Steve Potts

Born and raised in York in the UK. I studied at Hull School of Architecture and spent my working life in the North of England as an RIBA Chartered Architect, latterly as a Director of PPIY Architects in York. I have been taking photographs since the mid 1970’s on everything from 35mm, medium format to 5 × 4 film stock and now shoot purely on digital.

After years of lugging around a bag full of camera bodies and lenses I sold the lot to finance a Leica Q2 and this has now been exchanged for a Q3. I really love the simplicity of the Leica, both the menu structure and the physical operation of the camera, and the 28mm fixed lens is a limitation that seems to bring out the best in my photography.

“Retirement” has given me the opportunity to spend more time on photography and the mental bandwidth to give my art the time and energy that it deserves.
