After many years trying I finally culled my main camera collection to just the Q3, a beautiful and simple camera to use with a standout lens and more than enough pixels for my needs.

I wrongly assumed that the shape of the Q needed a better grip. It doesn’t, so this stays in my bag most of the time unless I decide to use the camera without the strap.

The perfect minimalist strap for the Q, buy the longer 126cm version so you can wear the camera over your head and shoulder for a safe by-the-hip carry.

I sold all my Fuji X Series gear to buy the Leica - except this APS-C compact. As good as the Ricoh GR series with a great 28mm lens and excellent jpeg and raw output.

An oldie but a goodie. One of the best 1” compacts with a pop-up viewfinder and a great 24-120mm lens. A great holiday camera

I very rarely use a tripod these days but this is the oldest camera gear that I own. A 1990’s classic still in great condition - I doubt I will ever sell it. The perfect balance of weight and rigidity with a fantastic pan and tilt head with quick release plate.

I love modern clean design and this tripod compliments the Leica perfectly. An easy carry and all of the adjustment that I need. This is the aluminium version.

The ubiquitous smartphone but it is always with me and actually takes great photo’s in the right conditions. It will never replace a camera as I don’t have enough control of the image but it does also pay for coffee and cake !
